We were grateful to hear from Dr Ginger Carlson of the Multarity Project on leveraging AI to enhance our creativity and human connection.

While it is common and understandable to have conflicting feelings of excitement and fear about AI adoption, Ginger noted that courage is to try something while scared and this is how growth happens. She used the analogy of a driverless car and encouraged participants to instead consider AI as a tool to assist in driving; we may not want AI to take the wheel entirely, but can let it take over sometimes so we can take a break. Ginger noted that certain AI tools can enhance our ability to connect with others. Yoodli is an AI speech coach which can provide feedback on speed, filler words and inclusive language, empowering speakers to be more engaging and inclusive to their audiences. Websites such as futurepedia.io and futuretools.io can help us to find the right AI models for specific use cases. Ginger noted that learning happens in a consistent order, following a specific continuum from awareness through to strategic integration, which we must go through this process to use AI effectively.

Thank you, Dr Carlson, for concluding our series of virtual talks with this thought-provoking presentation!
