Join Tech Yukon for this virtual talk by Alex Tveit on Tech and AI Stewardship. AI is being used, and creating challenges, in various sectors including ventures and social enterprises. Learn the importance of understanding how we shape tech and how it, in turn, shapes our culture and values. Alex will speak to the opportunities and challenges created by AI, both practical and on the horizon, using real-world examples such as organizational ChatGPT policies.
About the Speaker
Alex Tveit has nearly two decades of experience from the private equity sector in Canada. During the same time, he mentored and ran a growth accelerator focusing on scale-up with several national partners such as Futurpreneur, BDC, Dentons, and Spin Master, for close to 6 years. Recognizing the role that innovation and entrepreneurship needs to play in meeting the world’s environmental and societal challenges, he is now focused on working with cities and communities around building ecosystems for innovation in Canada and globally, through the nonprofit Sustainable Impact Foundation.
Together with MaRS Discovery District, Mila, 40+ Academic Institutions, and many Canadian and international partners, he runs Tech and AI Stewardship. Aside from looking at how we can bend technology to be beneficial to society and the environment, he is focused on how we bring inclusion into how we are developing and using technologies such as AI.
