In this fireside chat, Lauriane Gorce will share Open North’s approach to data governance, explaining some key concepts to support your data journey and sharing some insights gained from Open North longstanding work on data and data governance.

Drawing on solid scientific foundations (MSc) in both Engineering sciences and Science and Technology Studies of innovation, as well as on diverse work experiences, Lauriane Gorce is dedicating her time to helping innovations (what’s new) bring true progress to human beings and to our planet (what’s better).
Her current mission? She works at Open North whose vision is for data and technology that empower transparent, accountable and inclusive communities. Open North drives research, capacity-building and network collaboration across and within sectors to advance the responsible and effective use of data & technology, in Canada and internationally.
She is actively involved in several projects, such as supporting data governance for the Montréal in common ecosystem and the explorations of data trusts in Quebec civil law.

Olivier is co-founder and Head of Decision Science at Moov AI. He’s also a member of the Standards Council of Canada committee that is defining the ISO standards for artificial intelligence solutions where he leads initiatives on quality evaluation guidelines for AI Systems.
Olivier is a data science expert whose leading field of expertise and cutting-edge knowledge of AI and machine learning has led him to support digital transformation projects in many industries, as well as leading the implementation of a data culture in different companies like Pratt & Whitney Canada, L’Oréal and GSoft.
He’s a mentor for Creative Destruction Labs’ Artificial Intelligence Stream and helps start-ups succeed at AI. He speaks about artificial intelligence adoption in all its forms.
Olivier is the laureate of the prestigious “30 under 30” prize (Infopresse – 2019). He is co-author of a patent for an advanced algorithm that evaluates the credit worthiness of a borrower.
