How can the Government of Canada be more open and transparent?
The Government of Canada is developing it’s next National Action Plan on Open Government and it wants to hear your views!
Participate in this engagement session to share your thoughts and ideas related to four thematic areas of open government:
✅ Inclusive and meaningful public participation
✅ Protecting civic space and democracy in the digital era
✅ Anti-corruption, public confidence and corporate transparency
✅ Designing inclusive government programs and services
Participants will have the opportunity to prioritize and expand on open government action ideas already collected through the engagement process and identify additional ideas to address gaps or other opportunities.
About Natalia Jaczkowski
Natalia Jaczkowski (she/her) is a senior policy analyst who works on the Government of Canada’s open government team located within the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat. Natalia holds a Master’s degree in Public Administration from Carleton University and a Bachelor Degree from Trent University in International Political Economy.
About Cara Scarfone
Cara Scarfone is an Analyst with the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat. A graduate of Carleton University, she has spent her career working in the public service at the provincial and federal levels, first with a focus on research and evaluation, then shifting to open government. Most often described as “enthusiastic”, Cara is a cheerleader for all things open and is excited to be working on Canada’s next National Action Plan on Open Government. She values the opportunity to engage with the public to find out what matters most to them.

The Government of Yukon operates a number of online resources to help you find what you’re looking for. This session provides an introduction to the Yukon’s Open Government Portal, to the GeoYukon mapping portal, and to innovative mapping and open data projects currently under development.
Learn what open data datasets, open information publications, and geospatial data layers you can find, and share your feedback and suggestions on how we can improve the Yukon’s open data and public geospatial tools.
Sean Boots is the open government program manager for the Government of Yukon. With a background in software development and public policy, he previously worked at the Canadian Digital Service and was a co-founder of Ottawa Civic Tech. Sean’s work includes a focus on empowering public servants and on improving government transparency. He writes about government technology efforts at sboots.ca.
Morgan Ostrander is a Geomatics Consultant with the Government of Yukon. With experience working in environmental consulting and the tech sector, she has a background in data analysis, Python automation, and web development. As a former chapter lead for GoGeomatics Canada, she is also interested in facilitating knowledge-sharing opportunities on technical topics.
William Woodley is a Geomatics Consultant with the Government of Yukon. William has previously worked with Government of the Northwest Territories and Trʼondëk Hwëchʼin and brings a background in remote sensing and environmental mapping. William’s current work includes being the geospatial lead in the federally funded Government of Yukon Flood Hazard Mapping Program as well as managing, processing and purchasing LiDAR data.
